Lama- A Tibetan priest or monk.

LaVey, Anton Szandor- Founder of the Church of Satan.

Levitation- The rising of an object or person by no visible means. It is believed that human spirits are capable of levitating objects weighing less that 10 pounds. Anything heavier would seem to indicate the presence of an inhuman spirit.

Light Trance Medium- A person whom spirits can communicate through. In contrast to deep trance mediums, the spirit wishing to communicate through them does not possess light trance mediums, it communicates only with him/her.

Lucifer- Satan. Name literally means the "light bearer." Satan is the leader of the Angels banished from Heaven by God after they revolted against Him. He was supposedly the first and most beautiful Angel God created. It is commonly believed that one third of the Angels in Heaven were part of the revolt and were banished along with Lucifer. In earlier texts, prior to the New Testament, Lucifer and Satan were considered to be separate entities with Lucifer being the ruler and Satan the number two devil.

Lycanthropy- The condition where a person becomes or believes he becomes a werewolf. While someone suffering from this affliction may display some minor physical changes, they do not actually turn into wolves. They may however, show some transfiguration.
